Fidyah for Delayed Qadha Sawm (Fast)
If a person misses an obligatory fast in Ramadan, whether for a valid Islamic reason or otherwise, they must observe the Qadha (make-up) fast before the next Ramadan. If the Qadha fast remains unobserved, paying Fidyah becomes compulsory. Fidyah requires giving 750 grams of staple food (rice or flour) to a needy person for each missed fast. Please note that the obligation to fast the Qadha remains separate and must still be fulfilled.
